This group of dedicated thinkers provides insight, validation, and credibility to Exos’ current and future methodology, systems, and products.

Exos is committed to helping our athletes unlock new levels of performance and our employer clients fight burnout, increase the impact of their human capital, explore ways for employees to enjoy work and life, and fill the energy gap for women.

And we lean on our colleagues in the high-performance field to work closely with us to support our strategic efforts in addressing these issues.

The Performance Advisory Board does this by supporting Exos’ creation of cutting-edge, efficacious, and transformative performance experiences that inspire and empower people to reach new heights.

Meet the board
Our Performance Advisory Board is a curated group of industry professionals that round out our internal expertise in the areas of performance psychology, environmental physiology, the woman athlete, creative entrepreneurship, bioinformatics, sleep, functional medicine, and coach-athlete development.
Erika Ebbel Angle, Ph.D.
CEO and Co-Founder, Ixcela

Erika Ebbel Angle is the CEO and co-founder of Ixcela, the Internal Fitness Company. She received her Ph.D. in biochemistry from Boston University School of Medicine and holds a B.S. in chemistry from MIT. In 2002 Angle founded Science from Scientists, an award-winning nonprofit focused on improving science, technology, engineering, and math attitudes and aptitudes for children ages 9-13. She’s also the co-founder and director of education for Robots in Service of the Environment, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to apply robotic solutions to help solve environmental challenges.

Shane Doan
Chief Hockey Development Officer, Arizona Coyotes

Shane Doan is the chief hockey development officer for the Arizona Coyotes. Prior to taking his front-office role, he spent 21 years as a player within the Coyotes organization. Doan led the Coyotes in scoring every season between 2003 and 2011. In December 2015, Doan became the franchise's all-time leading goal scorer. He was also the longest-serving NHL captain until his retirement, serving as captain from 2003 to 2017. In international competition, Doan represented Canada and won five medals (two gold, three silver) at the World Championships. He helped Canada win the World Cup championship in 2004 and was also a member of Canada's 2006 Winter Olympic team.

Matt Driller, Ph.D.
Associate Professor in Sport and Exercise Science, La Trobe University

Matt Driller, Ph.D., is an associate professor in sport and exercise science at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. He has a wealth of both industry and academic experience. Driller has worked as a sports physiologist at the Australian Institute of Sport and at High Performance Sport New Zealand. He’s also worked with a range of sports spanning age group / development athletes through to Olympic and Paralympic medalists. Driller has published over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles, with the majority of these papers in the area of sleep and recovery in elite athletes.

Ken Ford, Ph.D.
Founder and CEO, IHMC

Ken Ford, Ph.D., is a fellow of the for the Advancement of AI, the National Academy of Inventors, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He’s also a member of the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame. Ford has served on the National Science Board, the Air Force Science Advisory Board, the Defense Science Board, and the NASA Advisory Council, which he chaired. In 2020, Florida Trend magazine named Ford one of its Living Legends, a list of all-time influential Florida leaders.

Susan Paley
CEO, DropLabs

Susan Paley is the CEO of DropLabs, a company engineering smart haptic technology for integration into everyday casual wear, transforming how people experience sound through media. A true product pioneer, she’s an expert in working with the creative mind and has teased out some of the most innovative, disruptive concepts to impact the audio world in decades. Paley was the first CEO of Beats by Dre, a brand that transformed the consumer audio landscape, and she’s been the driving force behind some of the most innovative consumer products and embedded solutions in the audio / digital audio space.

Stacy T. Sims, Ph.D.
Environmental Physiology and Women Athlete Expert

Stacy T. Sims, Ph.D., is an applied researcher, innovator, author, and entrepreneur in human performance, specifically sex differences in training, nutrition, and environmental conditions. She’s currently the director of the Female Athlete Performance and Health Research program at Auckland's University of Technology, where she continues to push the dogma for research on female athletes across the lifespan. Sims is a regularly featured speaker at professional and academic conferences, including those hosted by the IOC, the USOC, High-Performance Sport NZ, and USA Cycling.
